This is the thrill of writing in the raw. When you write your first draft, do not strive for immediate perfection in the hopes that you won’t need to go through the effort of writing second or final revisions. That’s plain lazy and as you will find out, good writing requires effort.
Get your ideas across as clearly as possible in your first draft, and make constant reference to your planned outline and the information you have gathered.
While you write, think about your audience:
- What tone should you use?
- What attitude do you have?
- Are you using the right words for your audience?
- Will your audience resonate with what you have written or will it leave them confused and bewildered?
REMEMBER:
- Get your ideas across
- Write in a free, unrestricted manner
- Use your planning documents and notes as a reference
- Discover new ideas as you write and makes notes about them for later
